In Loving Memory of
Yvonne Emma Sather
1920 - 2015
Yvonne Sather, age 94 years of Roblin, Manitoba passed away peacefully at her home on Good Friday, April 3, 2015. Yvonne left us to meet her Maker.
Yvonne was born on November 4, 1920 at Big River, Saskatchewan, a daughter to Emeric and Annamarie (nee Barresse) Godin. She also lived in The Pas, Manitoba on two occasions, as well as Gimli, Manitoba before moving to Roblin in 1982 – a place she called home for the remainder of her life and a community that she deeply loved, along with the many, many wonderful people that she befriended.
She met the love of her life, Thor Sather, and they married on April 26, 1943. Together they had two beautiful children, Lorraine, in 1944, and Bert in 1945. They were the center of their world and life together. They raised their kids in The Pas, where she worked in and outside of the home. When her children were older, they lived and worked at Guy Indian Residential School, just outside of The Pas before moving to Gimli, and ultimately to Roblin.
Yvonne was predeceased by husband, Thor; daughter, Lorraine Styba; grandson, Albert Sather; parents, Emeric and Annamarie Godin; and several brothers and sisters.
Surviving Yvonne’s passing are son, Bert (Rose-Marie) of Port Alberni, BC; grandsons, Jerry (Rachel) Marin of Trenton, Ontario, Brian (Jill) Marin of Regina, Saskatchewan, Rudy (Brittany) Sather of Nanaimo, BC; grand- daughter, Annemarie (Christopher) Beaton of Coaldale, Alberta; great-grand-children; Ty, Alex, Dakota, Avery, Danielle, Elise, and Jada; sister, Rita Bellows of Dunrae, Manitoba. She will also be missed by numerous nephews, nieces and extended families and a host of friends.
Yvonne was an active member of the Roblin Hospital Auxiliary and was involved in many community activities and fundraisers. She loved living at Maple Manor and over her 25 years there, she organized many events for the residents. At the core of everything that Yvonne did, was her unrelenting faith to God and to her church. She instilled faith to her family, and not only did she talk the talk, but she walked the walk. She was inspiration to all and will be greatly missed.
