In Loving Memory of

Willliam “Bill” Bugera

1926 - 2015

William “Bill” Bugera, age 89 years, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Roblin District Health Centre in Roblin, Manitoba.

Bill was born February 16, 1926, on the SE Quarter Section of 17-26-26 W1, in the R.M. of Hillsburg, Manitoba, (Shortdale District).  Bill was the son of Matthew and Annie (nee Malonek) Bugera.  He received his education at Shortdale School and helped his parents with farm work.

On June 26, 1948, Bill was united in marriage to the love of his life, Love Styba. Together, Bill and Love farmed and raised three sons that they were blessed with. Later, three daughters in-law, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren would be welcomed into the family.

Bill really enjoyed working with his beef cattle and milk cows. It has been said that Bill’s cattle understood Ukrainian.

Bill could often be found enjoying the outdoors where he became an excellent hunter and fisherman. A favorite spot for Bill to visit was the Lake of the Prairies. Any day was a good day to search out a trophy.

Bill acquired a love of flowers over the years and this was evidenced at his home yard in Roblin and the last ten years at the grounds of Roblin Apartments.

Bill was predeceased by his parents; Matthew and Annie Bugera, his brother; Ivan Bugera, his sisters; Alice (John) Sowiak, Lena (Joe) Yakimishyn and his brother-in-law Stan Literovich.

Bill leaves to mourn his loving wife of 66 years, Love Bugera of Roblin, three Sons; Dan (Doris) Bugera of Chatham, Ontario, Wes (Iris) Bugera of Winnipeg, and Barry (Lisa) Bugera of Portage La Prairie, four grandchildren; Todd Bugera, Andrew Bugera, Eric Bugera and Rayanne Striemer, three great grandchildren; Jasmin Striemer, Luke Striemer and Emma Striemer, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family..

Family called to pay their respects at the Chapel of Nairn-Chyz Funeral Home in Roblin on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 10:00 AM.

Bill’s Funeral Service was held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Nairn-Chyz Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Hammond officiating. The organist, Mrs. Betty Wenner, led the congregation in singing the hymns “The Church in the Wildwood”, “In The Bulb There Is a Flower”, and “Amazing Grace”. Bill’s daughter-in-law, Doris Bugera shared the Words of Remembrance. Honourary Casket Bearer was Nathan Striemer. The Casket Bearers were; Gordon Styba, Peter Mysko, Dennis Mysko, Ron Yakimishyn, Terrance Styba, and Bob Perchaluk.

Following the Interment Service at Roblin District Cemetery a reception was held at Roblin ’50 and Over Club, hosted by Rose and Ted Charbonneau.
