ANHALT, Paul Born February 19, 1930 – February 6, 2022 aged 91 years
Paul Anhalt was born on February 19, 1930 to immigrant parents in Springside, SK. He was the fourth of six children. Due to responsibilities at home, he was only able to complete part of grade five. Paul grew up in Springside and Fone Hill, SK until 1952 when his parents purchased property in the Roblin, MB area, where he stayed and farmed for the rest of his life. On April 5, 1958, he married Mary Thiessen. Their son, Dan, was born in the fall of 1960, followed by three daughters - Linda, Hilda, and Freda.
Paul led a very busy life and took a “get it done” approach in everything he did. Paul’s many endeavors included farming, feedlot cleaning, construction, and serving as a board member for both the Evangelical Mission Church in Roblin and Madge Lake Bible Camp in Duck Mountain Provincial Park, SK.
Paul enjoyed traveling whenever the opportunity presented itself. He and Mary spent time driving across Canada from one coast to the other, and also from Alaska down to California, across to Florida, and up the Eastern Seaboard to the Virginias.
Paul passed away with family by his side on February 6, 2022 at the age of 91 years, leaving behind a heritage of faithfulness to God and family. He will be lovingly remembered by Mary, his wife of 63 years, their four children: Dan (Sheli) Anhalt of Roblin, Linda (Dave) McGinnis of Roblin, Hilda (Carmen) Ginter of Saskatoon, SK, Freda (Ken) Neudorf of Calgary, AB, nine grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Fred (Susan) Anhalt of Roblin and his sister Melinda Liebreich of Yorkton, SK. Paul was predeceased by his father, mother, two older brothers, and youngest sister.
A celebration of Paul’s life was held on February 12, 2022 from Roblin Evangelical Mission Church, Roblin, MB., with Pastor Randy Moffit and Pastor Ryan Wiesner officiating. Interment followed at Roblin Community Cemetery, Roblin, MB., Donations in memory of Paul may be made to Madge Lake Bible Camp (Box 183, Swan River, MB., R0L 1Z0).
