In Loving Memory of

Mervin Arnold Reese

1942 - 2012

Mervin Arnold Reese was born in Grandview, Manitoba on August 17, 1942, an only son of Arnold and Jean (nee Thompson) Reese and passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Grandview Hospital.

Merv grew up in the Grandview area where he farmed and loved working with his charolais cattle.  He enjoyed playing and watching baseball, hockey, and curling.  Later, he had many good times coaching and watching his sons play hockey.  Collecting antiques was a passion of his life.  In later life, at Fort McMurray, Alberta, Merv started an aggregate business.  Due to health reasons, he returned to live in Grandview.

Mervin leaves to mourn his son Darryl and grandson Riley; son Shane and wife Jana and granddaughters Emma and Sarah all of Red Deer, Alberta; Mother of his children Bev Reese of Grandview; his Mother Jean Reese of Grandview, two sisters Marilyn McCasin of Child’s Lake, Manitoba, and Gloria (Ed) Ross of Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Also surviving are his special Cold Lake family members; Lyndon, (wife Jennifer) Rimmer and their daughters Taylor and Georgia, and close friends Jack and Clara Kempf of Grandview.

Mervin was predeceased by his father, Arnold Reese and brothers-in-law Walter and Billy.

A Memorial Service was held on Wednesday, October 24th 2012 at 2:00pm from the Grandview United Church with Rev. Karen Kuzek officiating. The organist, Mrs Deneen Fisher and Grandview United Church Choir lead the singing of the hymns. Longtime friend Mr. Cam Stirling delivered the Eulogy. Following the Interment at the Grandview Memorial Gardens a reception was hosted by the Grandview United Church U.C.W. at the Grandview Kinsmen Community Hall.
