Lillian May Irvine was born in January 1927, to Stanley and Gladys Irvine of Silverwood Manitoba. She married Gordon Dixon in June of 1947, and they had six children: Lorne, Diane, Allan, Brian, Lois, and Shirley. Gordon passed away in 2013, and Mom was surrounded by her loving family until her peaceful passing February 13, 2024, at Christenson care home in Gibsons, BC.
Mom lived her life as a tireless and happy individual, with a remarkable spirit and positive outlook on life. She labored long days to raise her family and always made the best of whatever situation she was faced with, all without one word of complaint.
Mom was an inspiration to anyone that knew her. She taught us the true meaning of unconditional love through her unwavering affection, compassion, and self-sacrifice. She will be dearly missed, and her beautiful soul lives on through all those whose lives she touched in her 97 years. She will rest at Mount View Cemetery in Silverwood Manitoba alongside her husband Gordon. Graveside memorial will be held on July 25, 2024, at 2:00 PM, followed by a celebration of life luncheon at Togo curling rink 3:30 PM July 25. All are welcome.
