Krista Joanne Van Wingerden

Krista Van Wingerden nee Van Stempvoort. Born September 12th, 1986 – March 8th, 2025. Aged 38 years.

Krista Van Wingerden, 38, passed away March 8^th, 2025 with her family at her side, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Krista lived a vibrant life dedicated to serving God and sharing his love with others.

Krista was a loving wife to Greg Van Wingerden for 15 years. Together they embraced the joys and challenges that came with having four busy boys. Krista always promoted the importance of family and made sure that quality time was spent together.

Krista received her diploma in Recreation and Leisure Therapy. She thrived in her work creating and leading programs for those with early onset dementia. She shared her love of music, reading, history, games, and physical activity with her clients. She later used many of these same skills as she embraced becoming a homeschool teacher for her boys. Krista joined other moms in her community to form a homeschool co-op, which she was so passionate about.

Krista will be deeply missed by many, especially her beloved husband Greg and sons Lincoln, Levi, Rhett and Jonas. She was the dearly loved daughter and daughter-in-law of Dale and Herma Van Stempvoort, Darlene and Wendell Jerome, and Bob and Alice Van Wingerden. Cherished sister and sister-in-law to Jon (Shayla) Van Stempvoort, Emily Van Stempvoort, Candice (Aaron) Goodchild, Mike (Leanne) Van Wingerden, Pam (Marc) Brocklehurst, and Kim (Rob) Vanderniet. Krista was adored by her nieces and nephews Roman, Aleena, Isaiah, Felix, Hezekiah, Millie, Tristan (Abby), Madison (Chris), Braden, Sadie, Larissa, Joe, Troy, Ryland, Jacob (Addison), Kaelyn (Nathan), Reuben, and Justin. She will be fondly remembered by her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
