The family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother Joyce Leskiw nee Bangle
Joyce was born in Walkerburn, Manitoba on October 31, 1929. She was the 7th child and first-born daughter of Rex and Mary Bangle (nee Larocque)
Joyce attended Makaroff High School and completed her education in Brandon, Manitoba where she studied to become a Registered Psychiatric Nurse followed up by her Registered Nursing Degree. She was very proud of her accomplishments and inspired many family and friends to follow her path.
She was married to Wesley Earl Klassen and had 4 children. Brenda (Bill) Humberstone, Robert (Judy) Klassen, Terry (Cheri) Klassen and Harley (Sarah) Klassen. She married Elgin Barr and following his death she married Joe Leskiw. Her stepsons Glenn (Janet ) Leskiw, children Chelsea and Chad and Garry Leskiw (Monica)were very close to her and mourn with us.
Joyce was pre-deceased by both parents and all 7 of her brothers. She leaves to mourn 2 sisters, Vivian Murray and Ethel Murray and numerous nieces and nephews. She had 7 grandchildren who will miss her dearly: Curtis, Beth, Lee Anne, Troyen, Trevor, Andrea and Kevin. She also had 9 great grandchildren: Cody, Jamie, Shane, Brianne, Miranda, Noah, Abby, Tyler and Morgan.. There are also 7 great-great grandchildren.
She spent her retirement years with her many friends doing quilting and was instrumental in starting the Roblin Quilting Guild.
The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and staff at Roblin Hospital for the care she received in hospital and also her Home Care ladies who kept her comfortable while she was at home
