John Raymond (Ray) Murray passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2015 at the Roblin District Health Centre in Roblin, Manitoba with his family at his side.  He was 87 years old, and lived a full, rich life.

Ray is predeceased by his parents; George and Alice (nee Burrell) Murray, his sister Margaret (Roy) Falkiner, brothers-in-law; Morris Chrapun, James, Elmer, Arthur, Leo, Clifford, Clarence and Roy Bangle, sisters-in-law; Betty and Grace Bangle and his nephews; Murray Falkiner, Milton Bangle, Rexford and Lorne Bangle.

A Graveside Service was held on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. in the Togo and District Cemetery, officiated by Reverend Mark Hammond.  The Urn Bearer, his son Jeff Murray, carried Ray to his final resting place beside his parents; Alice and George Murray.  Ray’s grandson, Benjamin Sanderson played “Amazing Grace” on the flute.  Those gathered enjoyed a special piece of music, “Grandpa”.

Ray’s Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Knox United Church in Roblin, also with Reverend Mark Hammond officiating.  The organist, Betty Wenner and the Knox United Church Choir led the congregation hymns “In the Garden” and “Abide with Me”.  Special music for the service was “You’re My Best Friend” and “Daddy’s Hands”.  Ray’s daughter, Wendy Lawrence provided a tribute to her dad on behalf of the family.  The family appreciates the support of everyone who came to the Funeral Service.

Following the service, a memorial reception was held in the auditorium of Knox United Church, hosted by the United Church Lunch Committee.
