John was predeceased by his parents, Gregory Darry and Elana “Lena” (nee Elaschuk); sisters, Mary Starchuk, Kay Hawyrchuk, Ann Krill and brother, Mike Darry.

Left to mourn John’s passing are sister, Rose Balabon of Toronto, Ontario; sister–in–law, Nellie Nicholson of Roblin, Manitoba and many nieces and nephews through–out the nation.

John was born in Calder, Saskatchewan. John farmed all his life and practised excellent care of his live- stock. He was a person always willing to help anyone in need. John lived a very private life.

A Visitation Service was held on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Nairn-Chyz Funeral Home. John’s Funeral Service followed at 11:00 AM, also in the Chapel of Nairn-Chyz with Pastor Randy Moffit officiating. The pianist, Laurie Moffit and the soloist, Shanna Nemetchuk performed “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “Does Jesus Care”. Special music included “Precious Memories” by Tennessee Ernie Ford and
“My Way” by Frank Sinatra. The eulogy was delivered by Conrad and Cindy Starchuk.

Following the service, a memorial reception was held at Nairn-Chyz Funeral Home.

John was carried to his final resting place in Nova Zora Cemetery by the Casket Bearers, Joe Shenderwich, Emil Roller, Danny Nykolaishyn, Glen Puritch, Conrad Starchuk and Trent Starchuk.
