MAILHOT, Hervé Born December 22, 1921 - June 17, 2024; aged 102 years.
The family of Hervé Mailhot sadly announce his passing at the age of 102 years. Hervé passed away peacefully on June 17, 2024, at the Crocus Court Personal Care Home in Roblin, with his two daughters sharing his last moments with him.
Hervé was born in Nicolet-Bécancour, Quebec on December 22, 1921, to Emery and Marie-Anne Mailhot. At the age of five, the Mailhot family moved to Manitoba, where they farmed in Boggy Creek. Later in life, Hervé married the love of his life, Louise Vermeylen, in 1952. Hervé and Louise were blessed with two children; Madelaine and Noella.
Hervé was a farmer, and their first homestead was in Silverwood, Manitoba. Later in life, Hervé moved to San Clara to farm with his three brothers: George, Paul, and Armand.
When Hervé wasn’t busy farming, he enjoyed going out for coffee and visiting with his friends and family. He also liked going for walks around town, playing shuffleboard, and dancing. In Hervé’s younger years, he also enjoyed curling and ice fishing.
Hervé will be most remembered for his unique sense of humor and the laughter he brought to others.
Hervé is predeceased by his wife Louise Mailhot of Roblin, Manitoba, his parents: Emery, and Marie-Anne (nee Poisson) Mailhot, brothers: George, Paul, and Armand, and sisters: Yvonne, Jean, Bernadette, Annette, Yvette, and Theresa.
Hervé is the beloved father to surviving daughters: Noella Mailhot (Ian Johnson) of Pennsylvania, USA, and Madelaine Mailhot of Calgary, Alberta, the Beloved grandfather of Sarah Louise Johnson of Grande Cache, Alberta and Uncle to numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family, as well as his surviving sister, Cecile Pahud of Edmonton, Alberta.
In (John 14:2) Jesus said: “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”
The Funeral Service for Hervé Mailhot will be held at the NairnChyz-Wolkowski Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, August 28th. 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Paul officiating.
