Grant Leslie Souter

SOUTER, Grant Leslie Born December 27, 1968 ~ June 23, 2026. Aged 57 years.

           It is with great sadness the family of Grant Souter, sadly announce his passing on June 23, 2026 at the age of 57 years.

           Grant was born in Roblin, Manitoba on December 27, 1968 to Gordon and Lorraine Souter.

           Grant completed all his schooling in Roblin, beginning in the old elementary school, which was demolished, moving all of the students to the brand-new school. At a young age he was really into different sports; hockey, Ping-Pong, and soccer. At the age of ten, along with his hockey team – the Roblin Roughriders, they went to and participated in a large hockey tournament in Thompson, Manitoba where they won the Munn Cup. He graduated from Goose Lake High in 1986. From there he spent one year in university before returning home to work for Parkland Landscaping. Later in his teens he joined the Senior Hockey Team - The Roblin North Stars. This team was very important to him where he made lifelong friends. He made the decision to move to Winnipeg, Manitoba where he held several jobs in maintenance at apartment buildings.

           Grant acquired a job doing the ground keeping for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Stadium. He was very proud to be working there when the Bombers won the Grey Cup and he received a staff ring. Having to leave that job during covid he transitioned to working for the Winnipeg City Transit helping work in the garage.

           He struggled for several years with liver problems which finally got the best of him on June 23, 2026.

           Grant was survived by his mother Lorraine Souter, and sister Cheryl Cardiff. Grant was predeceased by his Father Gordon Souter, grandparents Jack and Catherine Kruger and George and Margaret Souter and several aunts and uncles.
