Doug worked as a long distance truck driver in and around Saskatoon and most recently in northern B.C. He enjoyed being outside whether it was converting a lawn mower into a monster truck or weeding in the garden; it did not matter as long as he was outside he was happy.

Doug enjoyed his time spent on the highway, he loved travelling and seeing new things, meeting new people and enjoying new experiences, but he always found his way back to his parents in Roblin, his home.

Doug was loved by all and would do anything for anyone. He was a good cook and enjoyed being able to do this for his family. He loved to live and be happy.

Surviving to mourn Doug’s death and cherish fond memories are; his daughter Amber Lynn McKay of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, parents; Gordon & Lois McKay of Roblin, brother Lowen McKay of Roblin, sisters, Frances Delorme of Roblin, Angela (Travis) Micha of Chetwin, B.C, and Candace (Colin) Schmidt of Chetwin, B.C. Doug is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

Doug was predeceased in death by 3 nephews; Puis Delorme, Peter McKay and Steven McKay.

Family called to pay their respects at the Chapel of Nairn-Chyz Funeral Home in Roblin, on Thursday, November 29, 2012, at 7:00 PM.

Doug’s Funeral Service was held Friday, November 30, 2012 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Nairn-Chyz Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Hammond officiating under the auspices of the United Church of Canada. Brian and Roxanne Paul shared special music.

Interment will follow at a later date. Following the Funeral Service, a reception for family and friends was held from Roblin ’50 & Over Club.
