Gladys Ida Coulter (nee Nash) peacefully passed away March 11, 2019 at the age of 81 years. She was born February 7, 1938 and was the oldest daughter of Leonard and Anne Nash and beloved wife of the late Deryl Coulter.
As a young girl, she first lived at the family farm in Roblin, Manitoba. She graduated from Roblin High School, then moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba. She went to Success Business College and took a secretarial business course. She worked for a while at a jewelry wholesale store. Gladys also joined the army reserve but was never called upon.
Gladys met Deryl in Winnipeg and they were married on November 14, 1964. For a few years they lived in St. Eustache, Manitoba and this is where they had two sons. They moved to Calgary, Alberta and after a few years moved back to the family farm in 1973. This is when Gladys became involved in the community; working at the Recycling Depot, volunteering at the United Church and the Ag Society, and being involved in 4-H as the sewing instructor and leader. She enjoyed spending time with family and once in a while enjoyed traveling in the truck with Deryl. Gladys loved camping, gardening, flowers, knitting, cross stitching, sewing and reading. She was a lover of all animals including cats.
Gladys is survived by her sons Rod (Johann), and Lee (Jeanette); her grandchildren Lance, Christina (Chris), Travis (Cindy), Darlene (Phil); great-grandchildren Aiden and Savannah; brothers Leonard Nash (Liz), and Gordon Nash (Robin) from Chatham - Kent, Ontario; sister-in-law Phylis from Nelson, British Columbia; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Gladys was predeceased by her loving husband Deryl of 51 years and brother Trent.
