Gertrude (Trudy) Claudia Moore, age 88 years of Roblin, Manitoba, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at the Crocus Court Personal Care Home in Roblin.
Trudy was born to August and Annie (nee Wilderman) Shultz on July 21, 1928 in the RM of Shell River, Manitoba. She was baptized as an infant and later confirmed into the Lutheran faith at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Shevlin, Manitoba.
Trudy attended school for eight years at Grainfield country school and went on to attend high school in Roblin. She later went on to become a very good teacher and taught at a few country schools such as Grainfield School and Riding Mountain School.
Later, Trudy returned home and married the “boy next door”; Alex Moore in 1950. They were farmers and loved that life.
Trudy loved all of the animals on the farm, gardening, sewing and all of the many things involved with being a good partner and wife on the farm. In 1999, Trudy and Alex retired to the town of Roblin. She later became a resident of the Crocus Court Personal Care Home, where she was residing at the time of her passing.
Trudy was predeceased by her parents; August and Annie (nee Wilderman) Shultz, and her siblings and their partners; Mary (Rudolph) Edel, Freida (Emil) Zimmer, Lil (Harold) Edel, Rose (Irwin) Edel, and Ann (Wilf) Plath.
Trudy is survived by her beloved husband, Alex Moore.
The Funeral Service was held on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 2:00 PM at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Roblin with Pastor Barry Wood officiating. The organist, Debbie Funk, led the congregational hymns “Beautiful Savior”, “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “Behold a Host Arrayed in White”.
Following the Funeral Service, a reception for family and friends was held in the lower auditorium of St. Matthew’s Church.
Trudy was carried to her final resting place in Shevlin District Cemetery by the Casket Bearers; Jim McMillan, Joe Kroll, Clarence Bauer, Jerry Zachedniak, A.J. Zachedniak and Carl Mohr.
