Geraldine Edel

EDEL, Geraldine Arlene Born was on November 2, 1938, in Landestrew, SK and passed away peacefully at the Roblin Prairie Health Centre on January 25, 2022 at the age of 83. After Geraldine left school, she worked two terms (November to March) for Trudy and Alvin Becker. Then tested cream at the Roblin creamery for two summers. That fall Geraldine started working as a cheque clerk at Roblin Co-op store. October 1960, she married Edwin Edel. They lived in Lynn Lake and Thompson, MB. In between Edwin tried his hand at farming again, but that didn’t work out. In February 1969, they then moved to Roblin. They bought a home on 4th avenue south. That was 53 years ago.

Very sadly the man she called her husband, father and grandfather, Edwin passed away in 2000. As a family they loved to camp, go boating, fishing in the summer and winter, watch broomball and hockey games together and visit relatives. Geraldine enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, playing organ and piano, and she always enjoyed visits from her family.

Geraldine is survived by her children Keith (Sherry) from Yorkton, SK., their children Brooke, Scott and step-daughter Kelsey, Barry (Kerri) from Yorkton, SK., their children Sarah, Christopher and Emma, Janet (David) Storozynsky of Roblin, MB., and their children Eric and Jenna., Cathy Nykolaishyn of Roblin, MB., and her children Chad and Shawn., and 3 great grandchildren.

A private service was held at the chapel of NairnChyz-Wolkowski Funeral Service on January 29, 2022 with Pastor Barry Wood officiating.

In the summer of 2022 there will be a gathering of family and friends (to be announced).
