Georgina Meryl Hamilton (nee McKelvey), aged 83 years, left this world very peacefully, with her family singing at her side, to be with her Lord and Saviour on Friday, June 20th, 2014.

Meryl was born in Grandview, Manitoba on July 15th, 1930, second daughter of Wilfred Norman and Vera Jane (neeWalker)  McKelvey.

She met the love of her life, Max George Hamilton, and married on November 22, 1948.  Together they raised four children- Linda Maxine, Ronald Norman (Debra), Darryl George (Michelle), and Gloria Dawn on the family farm in Grandview.  In addition to her four children, she is survived by eight Grandchildren and nine Great-grandchildren and their families, her Sister Ella Mae Haliski, and numerous nieces and nephews.  Meryl will be missed by many.

Meryl loved helping people and was very involved in her church and community.  Her entire life was dedicated to her family, as well as serving others in capacities such as foster mom, church pianist, Sunday School Teacher, custodian, food donations of all types, volunteer ambulance, Meals on Wheels, canvassing for numerous charities, kid's camp where she did crafts, counseling and cooking, chauffeuring others to doctor's appointments, church functions, shopping trips or whatever was needed.  Her latest community project in recent years was the Senior's Park, where she spent many hours each week.  She was known for her hospitality and giving spirit.

Meryl was predeceased by her loving Husband Max Hamilton and Granddaughter Ashley Arvilla Gregg, as well as her Mother and Father and Sister Margaret Annie Elizabeth Fron.

A Celebration of Meryl's life was held on Thursday, June 26th, 2014, 2:00 PM at The Family Worship Centre in Grandview with Pastor Linda MacLeod officiating.

Interment was at Grandview Memorial Gardens and Casket Bearers were her Grandsons Chris, Curtis and Brennan Hamilton, and Grandsons-in-law Matthew Hughes, Michael Moodie and Brent Lechelt.

Special thank you to the Grandview District Hospital Staff for their wonderful care and support during the past few months.  You have been greatly appreciated.
