Becker, Elizabeth Eleanor, entered into eternal rest at the Crocus Court Personal Care Home at the age of 97 years. Elizabeth was born March 10, 1923 in the R.M. of Saltcoats, SK., was baptized, confirmed and married in the Lutheran Church at Rothbury, SK.  She received her education at the Rothbury School.    Elizabeth, was united in marriage to Phillip Becker on April 26, 1943. From 1945 to 1963 they farmed in the Assiniboine Valley which is now known as Lake of the Prairies.  When the Shellmouth Dam was built, they needed to relocate as their farm land would be flooded.  The bridge we see now crossing the Lake of the Prairies on Highway 5, was built on their land.  During the time of construction, Elizabeth worked very hard making meals for the large construction crews.  She and Phillip purchased new farm land and moved their farm buildings 3 miles north-east.  They were very proud parents of 5 sons; Wayne, Glen, Gene, Terry, and Darin.  She was well known by many for her abundant raspberry producing patch.  She loved knitting, crocheting and quilting.  It gave her great joy to share her creations with family and friends.  Elizabeth and Phillip worked long hours side by side; milking cows, fencing, harvesting crops and making hay.  She grew an amazing garden which was a must to keep their 5 hungry boys fed.  When visitors stopped in, she could always whip up a meal in minutes. Elizabeth was an active member with the Cromarty organization and looked forward to gathering with their neighbours for many a card party at Cromarty Hall.

In 1984, Elizabeth's first grandchild Carla, tragically passed away at the age of 17.  Their eldest son Wayne, (Carla’s Dad) then passed away in 2003.  Phillip passed on in 1991 at the age of 79 years.  Elizabeth is also predeceased by her parents Karl and Louise Daum (nee Mack) and 6 siblings: Marie Baumung, Julie Beiber, Louise Schepp, Fred Daum, Edwin Daum and Evelyn Jabs.

Elizabeth held herself and her family together, with great strength and faith throughout all the hard times. Left to cherish her life; daughter-in-law Colleen, grandchildren: Jodi, Tyson, Shayne, Glen grandchildren: Chris, Kevin, Jamie, Gene (Barb) grandchildren: Kelly, Waylen, Terry (Val) grandchildren: Tara, Jordan, Darin (Jackie) grandchildren: Steven, Brendyn. She was so proud of her 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.  Only one sibling remains in the Daum family, her sister, Elsie Mack.

Lizzie spent the last 4 years in the Crocus Court Personal Care Home where she was lovingly cared for by her kind nurses and doctors.

Those we love don’t go away,

They walk beside us every day.

Unseen, unheard but always near,

So loved, so missed, so very dear.

Until we meet again.
