Elizabeth "Betty" Edel

Edel, Elizabeth “Betty” Florance March 23, 1943 – June 13, 2024 Aged 81 years.

With great sadness we announce the passing of Betty Edel.  Betty was one of seven siblings to parents Gladys and Arthur Rowan.  She was born and raised in the Dropmore area on the family farm. Betty went to school at the Castleavery School until her middle school years when she stopped attending to help her mother on the farm after her father passed away.  As a teen she learned valuable skills as she worked on the farm helping her mother. Betty had the joy of meeting the love of her life, Richard Edel and joining him in marriage on December 18, 1964.  This marriage was blessed with one son Terry.

After Terry grew up and left home, Betty was able to take on a couple odd jobs around Roblin. She enjoyed reading, crosswords, puzzles, and solitaire when she wasn’t busy with the farm or family. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was usually dragged to come camping where she enjoyed the company much more than the camping. Betty loved to spend time in her gardening and being outside in her yard with the hummingbirds when she had the chance as well. She was always keeping busy. Betty was dedicated to her husband until his passing in April of 2018. Betty lived at home up until 2022 when she moved in with her son Terry and Gladys Edel up until her passing.

     Betty will be greatly missed by her son Terry (Gladys), and several nieces and nephews.  Betty was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Gladys Rowan; 1 sister and 3 brothers.
