Eileen Fedoruk Obituary

FEDORUK, Eileen Audrey born May 20, 1938 – October 4, 2021 age 83 years.

On
Monday, October 4, 2021, Eileen Audrey Fedoruk, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother of 5 children, 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, passed away at the age of 83 years.

Eileen was born on May 20, 1938, near Togo, SK to Jacob and Katherine (Pfeifer) Ruf.  Her formative years were spent on the family farm with her 2 sisters, Mabel Krantz and Shirley Harper, and her brother, Lloyd Ruf.  She attended Togo School where she graduated in 1956 as valedictorian of her class.

Eileen met her husband, Walter Fedoruk, in Togo and they were married on Nov 10, 1956, in Vancouver, BC.   Two years later they returned to Togo to build a life on their own farm and in the community of Togo where Eileen raised 5 children, Betty, David, Tim, Chris and Lorne.

Mom’s passions included her husband, her children, her flowers, and her vegetable garden.  Of course, this meant canning and preserving the bountiful harvest of her garden.  She was well known for her mustard bean pickles, pickled beets, beet relish, and cucumber relish.  Some of her happiest times were when she hosted visits from her family with RV’s surrounding her home and people everywhere.  She sat out with us at the fire in the evening to discuss current events, politics and provide her special insights into life, love, family, patience and togetherness.

Mom loved her Togo community and friends dearly.  She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and was known to be quite competitive at the card table on Tuesdays.  She always smiled and chatted with people at the Silver Threads where she was well known and respected by everyone.  She participated as a board member for the Silver Threads Senior Centre and Saskatchewan Housing.  She was also a Certified First Responder in Togo, an accomplishment of which she was very proud.  She made the difficult decision to leave Togo in 2019 and move to Roblin however she visited as often as she could for cards on Tuesday and supper at the Silver Threads on Friday.  In her new home in Roblin, she made many new friends and enjoyed her time there very much doing puzzles and chatting with her neighbours.

Our Mom also had a deep faith in God and love and salvation of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. She would always turn to her strong faith in times of distress and trouble. We know that our mom is in glory and in the presence of Jesus Christ for all eternity.

Eileen is survived by her sister Mabel Krantz, her brother Lloyd Ruf her children Betty (Brent), David (Darlene), Tim, Chris (Ida), Lorne (Paula), 11 grandchildren, Tod, Ben, Amber, TJ, Kyla, Alysha, Michelle, Michael, Ryan, Robyn, Raelyn, 15 great grandchildren as well as many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.  We will miss her greatly and will carry her memory in our hearts forever.

Eileen was predeceased by her parents, Jacob and Katie, her sister, Shirley Harper, 2 grandsons Jamie and Colin and her husband Walter.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Donations in Eileen’s memory may be made to the Togo District Cemetery Fund  or the Roblin District Community Foundation.
