Edward John Horatchko of Roblin, Manitoba passed away on August 31, 2024, at the age of 69 years.
Edward Horatchko passed away peacefully at the Roblin District Hospital on August 31, 2024, at the age of 69 years. Edward was born on January 21, 1955, in Roblin, Manitoba to his parents Nick and Nettie Horatchko. He was the youngest of four children. He started schooling in Blue Wing and then in Roblin.
He was in forestry for work in his younger years – logging in various places. Then later working for the town of Roblin. Throughout his life, he lived in Dauphin, Grandview, and Birch River, and then he moved back to Roblin.
Edward was predeceased by his parents, Nick, and Nettie Horatchko. Edward is survived by his sister: Marie Roach of Grandview, Manitoba, and two brothers: David (Gail) of Cranbrook, BC, and Walter (Shirley) of Roblin, Manitoba. Edward also leaves to mourn and cherish fond memories of his nieces and nephews: Randy Georgette, Sherri, Bobby-Joe Wilson, Dean Horatchko, Teresa Guay (Mike), Darcy, Dustin (Tanis) Horatchko, and good friends Martin Merko, and Decorabea Fleury, who was very close to his heart. Also, many other extended family and numerous friends.
Eddy loved fishing, gardening, hunting, music, dancing, playing pranks and always had a joke to tell. He had the ability to make friends everywhere he went. He was always happy and always smiling. Rest in peace everyone’s Uncle Eddy.
A Graveside Service in memory of Edward will be held at a later date with family and friends.
