The lure of the transport trucks that he could see out of the windows of the college beckoned him. He spent the rest of his life behind the wheel; hauling gravel, mobile homes, cattle to Ontario feedlots, general freight to Toronto, and hanging pork to Montreal and Ste. Hyacynthe, Quebec. Later, after selling his truck, he hauled logs to Louisiana Pacific from the Duck Mountains until he retired.
Deryle was also a farmer and purchased the Nash family farm, where he raised cattle and hay. He loved the outdoors, whether it was doing farm chores, or keeping the lawn and large farmyard looking neat and tidy. He enjoyed camping, fishing, waterskiing and quading.
He was also a woodworker, making salad bowls for friends and neighbors on his wood lathe in his spare time after he retired.
Deryle was a social person. He loved to talk and laugh and spent a lot of time on his CB radio when trucking.
Deryle was predeceased by his parents; Frederick and Isabella (nee Urqhart) Coulter, his brother Murray, his sister Doreen, his brother-in-law Dave, and infant sister Audrey and his brother Ross.
Deryle is survived by his wife Gladys Coulter, his son Rodney (Johann) Coulter and grandson Lance, his son Lee (Jeanette) Coulter and grandson Travis, granddaughters Christina and Darlene, his great grandson Aiden, and his sister-in-law Trixie Coulter.
