In Loving Memory of
Danny Jason (Danny) Frank
1971 - 2013
Daniel Jason Frank (well known as Danny) passed away at Roblin, Manitoba on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the age of 42 years.
Danny was born at Portage La Prairie, Manitoba on February 22, 1971 to Sheila Orr and Edward Kylne.
To his mother Sheila, Danny will always be affectionally called ‘Pokie’ because when he was a young boy it took him forever to do anything. He had to be woken up two hours early to make sure he was awake enough to go somewhere or do something.
Danny had many jobs over the years, but favourites were working as a landscaper for Peter Weiss at Parkland Landscaping and as a welder for Warner Troxler at Roblin Welding. Danny also helped his mother and step-father with their scrap business. He was a hard worker, but still enjoyed his leisure time. Danny also enjoyed cooking and made many holiday dinners for family. This love of cooking was also evident when he spent summers cooking at the Madge Lake Bible Camp. Danny had a few hobbies and was good at them all. He enjoyed fishing with his friends Dave McLellan and Harry Hansen, and hunting with his step-brothers Sheldon and Christopher Popoff. He also liked to draw for family and friends. He was just beginning to learn to paint his work. Danny was quite talented with his artwork, something he had inherited from his mother.
People liked Danny not only because he was kind and gentle, but also because he was honest and hardworking. Danny was a great friend– whether it was wearing a suit to be best man at a friend’s wedding or cutting off all his hair to show support for a loved one who was going through chemo treatments. He was always there in a time of need. He will be sadly missed by his family, closest friends and all who knew him.
Surviving to mourn Danny’s death and cherish fond memories are; his mother Sheila Boychuk–Popoff and step-father Lawrence Popoff of Roblin, daughter Kassidy Heska of Alexander, B.C, son Jason, and step-children Dillon and Nathan Heska. He will be missed by his special family Robin Bjornson of Swan River, Manitoba and her children Tyrel of Swan River, Theron (Ashley) of Redvers, Saskatchwean, and Sasha (Anthony) Minchuk of Swan River, and granddaughter Jayda. Also surviving are brothers Douglas Kocain of Brandon and Ronald Aubin, step-sisters Shauna (Irvin) Bueckurt of Winnipeg, Holly (Kyle) Bemmer of Winnipeg, Crystal (Christopher) Seward of Winnipeg, step-brothers James Popoff and Sheldon Popoff both of Beasejour, Manitoba, Christopher (Andrea) Popoff of Winnipeg, uncles and aunties John Orr and family of Regina, Jim (Debbie) Orr and family of Winnipeg, George (Joyce) Orr and family of Edmonton, Douglas (Marni) Orr and family of Brandon, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Danny was predeceased by his father Edward Kylne.
Danny’s Funeral Service was held Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 2:00 PM from the Evangelical Mission Church in Roblin, with Pastor Randy Moffit and Pastor Floyd Martens officiating. The organist, Mrs Laurie Moffit, led the congregation in singing the hymns, The Bridge Over Troubled Waters and Amazing Grace. Maggie Orr shared the Word of Remembrance.
Honourary Casket Bearers were Benny and Margaret Spear, Mel and Alice Rode, Norman Douse, Les Shiner, Barry and Muriel Godwin, Art and Lorraine Ainsworth. Casket Bearers were Dennis Taylor, Keith Taylor, Trevor Taylor, Harry Hanson, Edwin Popoff, Chuck Brade.
Following the Interment at Roblin District Cemetery, a reception was held at the Evangelical Mission Church Hall.
Danny I am sorry, I cannot be here today
As it saddens my heart so
They say only the good die young
But still decide to go
You left without a trace that day
I wish you would have stayed
The pearly gates wait for you
Since the day you were born
His hands still open softly
That spoke to you that day
Hold my hand and come with me to
The place that is warm and nice
-K. David
