In Loving Memory of

Cst. Adrian Stacey Gulay

1967 - 2013

Adrian Stacey Gulay age 45 years, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at Winnipeg.

Adrian was born on November 13, 1967 in Winnipeg. He graduated from Miles MacDonnell Collegiate in 1986. As a teenager, Adrian was very involved with his sports especially basketball, and bodybuilding. He continued on at Red River Community College to take criminology courses. Adrian worked as a bartender and bouncer at several locations for a few years. His career started at the Marymound Youth Centre guiding troubled teens for many years and continued with his specialized training with the D.A.R.E program.

Adrian always dreamed of being an officer of the law from a very young age.  His dream was fulfilled after determination and a lot of hard work when he became a Royal Canadian Mounted Police Officer in March 2003.

With his passion for fishing and the beauty of the countryside, he quickly settled down and made Roblin his home for the last 10 years.  Adrian was re-posted last spring to the Amaranth, Manitoba Detachment where he would reside part time while on duty and go home for his days off.  He loved spending time with his dogs Blue and Skully and other animals, listening to loud music and enjoying movies on his big screen T.V.  Tropical vacations were at the top of his list and he was fortunate to enjoy many trips over the last few years, last one being a trip to Belize with his brother Roger and going deep sea fishing and having the time of their lives.

Adrian was a big man, but bigger than the man was his heart.  His generosity and compassion along with his fairness, and understanding for people has earned him love and respect from his family, friends and his community.

Words cannot express the loss we feel for you Adrian, all we can do is honour your memory and live life day to day and not take it for granted. We miss you Adrian and pray you are in peace - GONE FISHING!

Surviving to mourn Adrian’s death and cherish many fond memories are his brothers and sisters; Ted (Janice) Gulay of Winnipeg, Danny (Kathy) Gulay of Fisher Branch, Manitoba, Darlene (Stan) Ferris of East Selkirk,  Manitoba, Virginia (Wayne) Martin of Winnipeg, Brenda Gulay of Winnipeg, Roger (Lorie) Gulay of Winnipeg, Julie (Simon) Davis of Preston, UK, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Also surviving are his former spouse of eight years, Linda Perchaluk of Roblin, step-daughter Alexa, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bob and Paulette Perchaluk and family of Roblin, Manitoba.

Adrian’s Funeral Service was held Monday, August 26, 2013 at 12:30 PM at the Roblin Community Centre in Roblin, Manitoba with Pastor Warren Ironstand officiating.  Jeff Perchaluk delivered the Eulogy. The Urn Bearer was Cst. Colin Lindquist. The Honour Guard was formed by members of the R.C.M.P, members of Roblin–Shell River Fire and Rescue Department, and members of Parkland Ambulance Service (Roblin).

Following the Funeral Service a reception was held at the Roblin Community Centre.

A private family interment has taken place.
