MARTIN, Bertha Marie Victoire Born May 5, 1936 – May 31, 2025. Aged 89 years.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bertha Martin, who passed away peacefully on May 31st, 2025 at the age of 89. At the time of her death, she was residing at Crocus Court Personal care home in Roblin, Manitoba.
Bertha was born May 5th, 1936 to Edward and Louise Langan in the Boggy Creek Shell River District. Tragically Bertha lost her mother at a young age and was raised by her father and siblings.
Bertha Married the love of her life and husband of 66 years Leonard on May 25th, 1955. Together they raised nine children. Her goal and passion in life was to provide and care for her family. She spent countless hours cooking, cleaning, washing clothes, gardening, canning and what ever needed to be done to make a home for her family. Family was everything to her.
Bertha loved country music and enjoyed singing at parties and get togethers. She earned the nick name Kitty Wells for her renditions of Kitty's songs. You could always find her humming or singing as she went about her day. Bertha enjoyed many things including bingo, playing VLT’s, dancing, going to church, watching the blue jays play ball on TV with dad, but most of all visiting and spending time with loved ones.
Bertha was preceded in death by her husband Leonard and son Larry, her mom and dad Edward and Louise Langan, her father and mother in-law Phillion and Beatrice Martin, her first born grandson Garth Paul, her daughter in-law Karen (Rene)martin, her daughter lorette's partner John Young, all her siblings as well as several nieces and nephews.
Bertha is survived by her children Linda (Rene)Paul, Rene Martin, Lorraine
Martin, Lavern (Darlene)Martin, Maurice Martin, Doug (Stella)martin, Lorette Martin, and Ron (Pam)martin. She is also survived by Trevor and Jared Martin, her grandsons that she helped raise. Also, many grandchildren, great, and great-great grand children, many nieces and nephews as well.
The family would also at this time like to thank the staff at Crocus Court for all the care you gave Bertha. It did not go unnoticed. The family really loved that you all decided to call her Auntie. It made her feel loved and special. Also thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Yvonne and Vicky who went above and beyond when it came to watching over her.
Fly high sweet angel. You will live in our hearts for ever.
