Nichols, Arthur William Junior, May 15, 1928 - August 2, 2018, passed away suddenly at the Brandon Hospital. He was in his 90th year.
Junior was born on May 15th, 1928 to parents Margaret and Arthur Nichols. Junior lived for all of his life on the Nichols homestead located at NW-21-24-29-W.
Junior and his brothers Pat and Jack built a very successful farm life in the Castleavery District of Manitoba.
Over the years, Arthur (as he was known in more official terms) served on the board of the Roblin Hospital and on the board of the MacNutt Credit Union. He always enjoyed community events in Roblin, Dropmore, and MacNutt. In earlier years you could find him at most fall suppers and community parties until his hearing became an issue.
Junior was a respected farmer, dependable neighbor, teacher, and friend. Although never married, Junior was always thought of as a grandfather by his great nieces and nephews, and by generations of unrelated family from around the district.
Junior is survived by his youngest sister Marge (Garry) of Brandon, 8 nieces and nephews, and numerous grand nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by Sister Dorothy, brothers Pat (Robert), Jack (John), and Cliff.
Many thanks from the family to the people of the district for their kindness and support over the years.
Interment Service was held Friday, August 10, 2018 at the Castleavery Cemetery. Following the Interment, a Funeral Service was held at Knox United Church in Roblin, Manitoba with Reverend Dr. Jenny Sprong officiating.
