Alvina Lydia Shingoose was born April 23, 1966 in Grandview, a daughter of the late William & Marceline Shingoose. Alvina resided in her home area, Valley River First Nation, with her best friend; husband Dennis Lynxleg Sr., until her passing on November 25, 2013.

Alvina has left the following people to mourn her sudden passing: her husband, sisters, brothers, children, grandchildren, a great grandchild, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Alvina was such a wonderful, caring and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who shared a great love for all who surrounded her. She will be lovingly remembered for her witty humour, her hearty laughter, constant smiles and her kindness.

Alvina is welcomed home by: Grandparents Joseph & Elizabeth Shingoose, Grandparents William Severite & Victoria Ironstand, Parents William & Marceline Shingoose, Sisters Roberta Shingoose, Carolynn Shingoose, Brother Alfred Shingoose, Nephew Brendon Brass, Grandson Schae Lynxleg.

Wake Services for Alvina were held on Friday, November 29 beginning at 4:30 p.m. in Valley River First Nation at the Chief Clifford Lynxleg Anishinabe School Auditorium.

Funeral Service was held on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 12:00 noon, also in Valley River First Nation at the Chief Clifford Lynxleg Anishinabe School Auditorium with Pastor Warren Ironstand officiating. Casket Bearers were Roland Brass, Trevor Lynxleg, Dustin Shingoose, Hunter Shingoose, Sheldon Shingoose, Jon Gregorash. Honourary Casket Bearers were Desmond Shingoose, Stanley Shingoose, Jeffrey Shingoose, and Billy Shingoose.

Interment Service was held at Valley River Reserve Cemetery.

I thought of you with love today
